So, how much are you willing to pay? The D&RGW Challenger has a list price of $2300.

Too much!

OK yeas it will cost north of 2300. no deposits are required and it will be built before 2095. If you went with
the other guy it would cost 6K and never be done but you have paid deposits on the books.
The next steam model from Sunset will be the T&P 2 10 4 Texas at 1899.00, I am getting 3 models.
I helped Scott put the design package together for the builder and painter. these will be stunning
models.
I be leave there are 125 sold.

Jon,
Here's 3 photos I took of 1218 in Petersburg, Va in 1987 (so my caption tells me):
She's a brute!!! Good luck on getting it made, I'd be in if I modeled N&W but all my $$$ go towards trying to get SAL stuff.

Me too, but probably should do it now while the used prices are soft.
On the A - I bought the book! What an elegant locomotive! I gave some thought to getting a Williams and making a new firebox, but I am now leaning toward one in 17/64.
Very nice photos!

As I recall, the firebox is too narrow. Correct? I also sort of remember that the steam pipes were pirated from the Big Boy(?) and are purely wrong.bob turner wrote:Me too, but probably should do it now while the used prices are soft.

Fixing both is likely beyond my meager skills.

Yes - way too narrow, even for a non-purist like me. PSC may have pipes, but I did not notice. Yes, there are factory 2-rail versions. It was a handsome model.
I am quite happy with the Williams "J" and all of my B6sbs. They capture the essence of their prototypes, and are quite sturdy.
