Cain and Abel both took wives who were not their sisters, kind of casts some serious doubts on the validity of the one man, one woman, one family starting the whole human race concept, doesn't it?

It's all going back to those aliens.......planted homo sapiens here and are sitting back watching the show eating popcorn and Fritos.
As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

An excellent point. As an example, certainly, nobody was present at "The Garden of Eden" writing it all down.

Btw, also on the point of dubious written records and dogma, Cane killed Abel, and was marked on his face so everybody would know what he had done. Everybody? What, WHO would that everybody have been if the two (?) sons were their firstborn??!!!!!!

I was asked, no, told to leave Sunday school when I questioned that story.

No, no, no. The expanding universe (at least this side of black holes) is nothing more than debris from the sneeze of some superior being and we are merely miniscule bacteria or a virus of some type. Guess than makes galaxies larger matter from their sinuses. Big Bang my *ss.

Butch! I was not aware that you were of the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle VI................

Many races believe that the creation of the Universe involved some sort of God, though the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle VI believe that the entire Universe was in fact sneezed out of the nose of a being known as the Great Green Arkleseizure. The Jatravartids live in perpetual fear of the time they call "the Coming of the Great White Handkerchief", somewhat similar to the Apocalypse.

Christianity and Judaism are the two faiths about which mockery and blasphemy are not only permitted but approved.
At least we're not being burned alive to light the Colosseum.
Yet.

one more thing, since I'm feeling talkative. The new installment of "How the Universe Works" discussed theories and speculation about what Black Holes really are. One theory expressed was that eventually mankind will learn how to navigate through them and, because time stops there, it might be able somehow to go back in the past. So-maybe the aliens we hear about may be our future selves come back. Perhaps to preach the virtues of 2-rail O scale

Provocative artwork about Islam can get a person killed. I'm content to sit back and watch Muslims kill each other.

Precisely. I admire your courage in saying so, HONDO. Thanks for that.
