"...does not instill ANY trustworthiness" ?
I find that to be specious reasoning.

An excellent point. As an example, certainly, nobody was present at "The Garden of Eden" writing it all down.
Btw, also on the point of dubious written records and dogma, Cane killed Abel, and was marked on his face so everybody would know what he had done. Everybody? What, WHO would that everybody have been if the two (?) sons were their firstborn??!!!!!!
I'm sure that it was tweeted.
The point here was TO WHOM ?

Is it any truer to write one plus one equals three?

Informs? Maybe, but the act of writing it down does not instill any trustworthiness. As far as kings and popes and other leaders editing written/pictographic records, stuff happens. We search for the Truth as best we can. What's new or shameful in that?
Not wrong with it as long as you also are capable of independent thought and reasoning, and actually search for truth as opposed for settling for good enough.
In my personal experience, the search , as well as the possession, can be a blending.
Take, for example, the assassination of President Kennedy. Where do we find the truth about all its particulars? Word of mouth? Verbal testimony that was written down? Eyewitnesses? Perhaps, we can find some truth in a blending of what has been made available to us?

Perhaps my favorite novel is "To Kill A Mockingbird." I don't accept it as
Historical Fact or Truth Universal, but I have derived from its written word some value and some truth about life and what matters significantly, even some instruction.

Good talk .

You might want to take a class in logic, Murph. Assuming, that is, it is still legal to do so.

Of course it is.............
As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

What we know about Druid's might certainly come from these folks known as archeologists.
Cain and Abel both took wives who were not their sisters, kind of casts some serious doubts on the validity of the one man, one woman, one family starting the whole human race concept, doesn't it?

Yup.
Archaeology has its place, huh.
Anthropology, too, huh.

Like you say, give Pres. Trump time. He doesn't seem to appreciate critical thinking by his fellow Americans.

And I love the "logic" of putting that comment right here in the conversation. Noteworthy "critical thinking skills," to be sure.
