I'm not saying that they are stupid, but some people just have bad luck when it comes to thinking.

I just now read what you wrote there aloud to my wife . We've both had a good chuckle over it . :D

That, "a nice Jewish boy", seems to be a problem, doesn't it? Jesus was a jew, subject to the Mosaic law, which he followed perfectly.

Jesus, speaking to the Apostles concerning his ministry during their last meeting before his death, "It was to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’"
--John 15:25 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)

"In their Law", here refers to the entire Hebrew Scriptures.

So many things are lost to history, but fortunately, the beginnings of Christian anti-Semitism are known. There was a bishop back in Roman times who opposed Christians attending synagogue services. He wrote an open letter where he said that the Jews murdered Jesus. (This was the beginning of the Deicide claim against the Jews.)

The story of Jesus' death is recounted in detail in the New Testament. It's clear that Jesus himself is mostly responsible. He really put the Romans on the spot, and they responded according to their laws. There were only a handful of Jews, mostly associated with high priest Caiaphas, who were to some degree complicit in Jesus' killing. But, you can always count on Christians to misplace anger and hatred.

As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

And you chose December 24 as the perfect moment to make a remark like that. Wow. Down to your established standards, ROY, I must say. Congratulations, on a unique, new low achievement. I honestly do not know anybody else who could have done it. Fortunately.

I'm sorry you don't like your Christmas present, Murph. Granted, it's like a bag of coal. However, other Christians have, at least, acknowledged the truth. Pope John Paul II made a formal apology for Christian anti-Semitism.

It is probably no surprise to most on this forum that I am a supporter of Murph.
That support is not just for his modeling abilities. I also support him in his stand taken above,
Murph and Wayne had enough guts to comment on the statements made by Roy.
I do not have the vocabulary, knowledge or temperament to engage in the above discussion.
I will say that IMHO this discussion should, for the sake of MTJ, stop.

Sounds to me like YOU might be the one with the misplaced anger and hatred. I will pray for you.

This poem, How Fortunate The Man With None by Bertolt Brecht, pretty much sums up what the world has done to prominent people who seemed to have it all:

You saw sagacious Solomon You know what came of him,
To him complexities seemed plain.
He cursed the hour that gave birth to him
And saw that everything was vain.
How great and wise was Solomon.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's wisdom that had brought him to this state. How fortunate the man with none.

You saw courageous Caesar next You know what he became.
They deified him in his life
Then had him murdered just the same.
And as they raised the fatal knife
How loud he cried: you too my son!
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's courage that had brought him to that state. How fortunate the man with none.

You heard of honest Socrates The man who never lied:
They weren't so grateful as you'd think
Instead the rulers fixed to have him tried
And handed him the poisoned drink.
How honest was the people's noble son.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's honesty that brought him to that state. How fortunate the man with none.

Here you can see respectable folk Keeping to God's own laws.
So far he hasn't taken heed.
You who sit safe and warm indoors
Help to relieve our bitter need.
How virtuously we had begun.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's fear of god that brought us to that state. How fortunate the man with none.

It wasn't wisdom that did Solomon in, it was his 700 wives and 300 concubines.
