Lobaugh Challenger
Hi, Did Lobaugh make scale drawings for its models.Im looking for a set for there challenger. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Lobaugh Challenger
As far as I can tell, they did not offer a set of scale drawings for their kits. Usually they are accompanied by an isometric drawing of the boiler and that was about it. HO Scale Challenger drawings for both versions of this loco are in the Model Railroader Steam Loco Encyclopedia.

Lobaugh directions and documentation are mostly useless. You need Kratville's "Challenger" book to really do a good job on these. Which kit are you working on - Fetters or Jabelmann?

First of this month a silent purge seems to have occurred, killing everything over six months old.

It sure looks like the "Standard Gauge" section was killed!

After the last big "purge" I decided not to start any long threads. I'll do short ones, knowing they will poof inside of six months.
As long as we all understand that this site is not for long-term informational threads, we'll do okay.

Actually, it killed threads where the last post to that thread is over 6 months ago.
One of mine from 2016 is still available.

Why not?
The worse thing that can happen is that you upset a electrons and some 1's and 0's do not get together and make 10's

If you delete all but one of those, it will postpone the day when management will do another purge. You could replace them with a shot of your mechanisms?

Re: Lobaugh Challenger
I use .010 K&S sheet, cut into strips. Tin both sides, tin the boiler, then with glove and visegrips, solder them on. You will see them become encapsulated. The boiler gets warm after the first one, hence the glove. I overlap them on the bottom.
