Thanks!

Was an annoying decal exercise, but I and the car survived through to the bitter end. Not using dull coat anymore; Rustoleum Clear Matte works well over both decals and dry transfers; one less can on the shelf in the shop and it's a lot more for less $'s.

I agree. I really like Martin's tank cars. If you haven't seen his others, a search s well worth the effort.

I an having serious problems with Rustoleum nozzles. Dupli-Color is now my rattle can of choice. I lament the deterioration of quality by Krylon (once the best; now unusable) and Rustoleum.

Love to see orange logos on freight cars.....they really stand out. Makes that nice paint job pop! What is the Chicago railroad with the lucky strike logo? One of my most favorite non-UP logos and I can't even remember the road right now.

BH

PS: That was a great decal job. All the lettering lines up with the handrail, which would make a poor job look bad.

The "Lucky Strike" style would be the final herald for the Chicago Great Weedy

Dupli color is Krylon.

It may be, but if the can says Krylon the spray nozzle and paint formula are not the same as Dupli-Color. Krylon nozzles now put out a fan that is useless for models, and their paint is good for four months after the first use. Dupli-Color always sprays a nice pattern, and the can lasts years.

Rufus,
I have not yet made my usual comment concerning the tank car. BEAUTIFUL!

If you're given a straight line to use, use it!    If the hand rail were off and I put the decal on right, it would never look right - you have to go with your eye on these things. Getting the emblem to flatten down over strap was a delight

Thanks, Roger!

Nice!!!

Just how common we're these 2 and 3 dome tankcars? I've never seen any (south of D.C.).

Nice job on that, Rufus; what is the manufacturer-origin of the car body kit and decal set? both nicely detailed.
Great looking tank car.

Tank cars have all been USH cars; probably done with those for now - more photos will follow..... Have one PSC tank car to do....when I get the bench space and painting room again.

Car body kits - those wooden ones? Maybe Athearn or A-N, but I'm not really sure....and their end points will look nothing like the offerings of either,

The Ballast car was/is a Main Line kit, but I think we covered that already.......
