Are these the same folks walking around staring down at their toy stepping off the curbs into traffic.......
I have 5 external storage drives, 2 internal on this computer and yet another computer - all reconciled and matched. People that lose stuff either lack a sense of organization, have no concept of backing up files, or they just might be total gimboids....about to step off into traffic - problem solved.
All these hand held devices hae done one good service - they've illuminated how thin and shallow the gene pool really is now.

Rufus,
I'm really thinking about 100 = years from now.
You are posting all of these old photos from 100 + years ago that we discuss and enjoy seeing here on MTJ.
I really wonder if this will even be able to be done 100 + years from now.
Will todays photos still be floating around out there in the outer ether that far in the future and be able to be recovered?
I guess I'm just being a pessimist.

No reason why not - remember the ones I'm posting are scans of photos that were turned into postal cards (most are) and they have survived all of the conditions that damage and destroy paper including the trash can. No reason not to expect that the electronic analogs being created today which can be endlessly copied with minimal effort will not survive solely on the basis of sheer numbers.
I guess I'm just being a pessimist.
Not really.

Not at all - merely an observation of the current reality that surrounds us. What would happen to these folks were cell phones networks to go off-line for a day or 3.... they might have to actually pay attention to their surroundings, interact with each other, maybe even be.........human.
Well, if that happens I'm putting on gloves.

Positively everything about and in those photos speaks of danger, to me. I can easily imagine men getting serious injuries from a vast myriad of possibilities . I am reminded of the very serious precincts of the steelmills of the Pittsburgh area, back in the 50's and 60's. Everywhere men moved or reached, there was something ready to crush, amputate, burn, melt, evaporate, or maim them. Believe me.
