No idea of origin, but it's not powered - not a doodlebug.....despite what I thought as well upon 1st glance.
Evil cannot create anything new, it can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have created or made.

That's what I thought, too. Then, why did they design it with a rounded and windowed "front" like that, I wonder. Perhaps, it was a tail-end car at one point?

Possibly or even also possible that the body came from a doodlebug. Sit rather high on those trucks as well. Somewhere I have books on the H&BTRR, but I think those cover far earlier years.
In any case, it caught my eye and I thought it interesting enough to share here.

Any idea of the photo's date? But, you're correct. It's a de-motored Brill. Likely post-war, given H&BT's finances.Rufus T. Firefly wrote:MurphOnMillerAve wrote:Rufus T. Firefly wrote:

Both H&BTRR pix were dated 1953.

I suspect that the prime mover (if there was one) was at the other end.

I see the incline on the top photo but do not see a switch-back.
Other than the incline with cables did this operate with gravity only?
