Maybe, one of the 562 (the mayor of Nearly-Nowhere?) who felt the attempt at dubious "humor" would get them some attention? For? :( :?

Takes money and time and commitment for a sign like that to be made and mounted, though.

I believe this is simply a result of our Common Core mathematics being taught in schools these days.

Beats the earlier method wherein the removal of shoes was required when using numbers over ten........well, for most folks outside of some parts of WV.

It means: "This is the place where daft folk stand and stare at the sign on the wall"

I am half Welsh and can read the name Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
It means: Parish [church] of [St.] Mary (Llanfair) [in] Hollow (pwll) of the White Hazel [township] (gwyn gyll) near (go ger) the rapid whirlpool (y chwyrn drobwll) [and] the parish [church] of [St.] Tysilio (Llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo[f] goch).

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a large village (population 3,107 in 2011) and community on the island of Anglesey in Wales, situated on the Menai Strait next to the Britannia Bridge and across the strait from Bangor. You can get there by rail.
