In a land apparently completely devoid of toys or a single balloon (ever notice that when you see footage on the news?) or a single convertible, I am not surprised at that photo. In fact, that person's red garment is probably photo-shopped because I am not sure I have ever seen any color (oh, lookee, a green chair, probably smuggled in from Satanland, and punishable by be-heading for such shameful artwork) in that country or several others in that Hollywood-forsaken area. Have you ever seen so much as a smile on anybody's face, let alone on that of a child?

Any flowers? Gardens? More than two trees standing shoulder to shoulder? Nope. Forget about grass. All that tan & beige must all have had a long and penetrating permanent effect on so many unhappy sourpusses, I say.

And where else would you find such dry heat answered by piling mega-yards of dense fabric on each woman, all because the men can't control themselves? Yup, ship 'em a train-load of hotpants, halters, and thongs - change the hellhole overnight, well, sortof, maybe, but can total blockheads ever be re-routed in their ignorance? Absent The Trojan Women being reincarnated for a little visit, I have no hope for any improvement ever in the lands of emptiness. But I'll watch the news to see.

Rant over? Not likely.

Kinda makes you happy we got involved in all that, eh? Thanks to Mr. Cheney, Mr. Wolfowitz, Mr. Perle, Mr. Bolton, and the rest of the neocon brain-trust...I guess their vision for the "Arab Spring" just didn't work out like they thought it would.

It's nice to see their smiles, now, but when they grow up, will the smiles turn to leers, curses, and snarls - in our (Western Civilization) direction?

And looking at those remnant tree stumps, I happily stand corrected - I do see a few very low green shrubs bravely holding on at the bases of some trunks. Encouraging? Perhaps, they can join us in celebrating Arbour Day. Someday.

Well, Healey, if one is looking for higher, holier ground, it is not going to be found under the knees of captive journalists and Catholic priests who are having their throats cut wide open on a worldwide broadcast.
