Dave,

Looks like that to me too.
I remember seeing them work in the Cleveland area.
Fascinating!

That's a very interesting photo of ore unloading. I think there are a couple more photos of the three truck gondola floating around.

The unloaders on the far bank are of a style I don't recognize. The caption says Cleveland which had at least 11 Hullet unloaders. The unloaders in the picture appear to be an earlier style, probably by a different manufacturer. I wonder wether they were replaced by Hullets or worked alongside them until they were scrapped, probably during the depression.

The boat in the foreground, ZAPOTEK appears to be one of the large wooden schooners built as ore carriers in the 1880s which spent their later lives as towed ore barges.
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

I notice the baggage (?) car seems to have its forward-most door wide-open. When I have found that an occasional train has such a door open (which I have disliked immensely) on the layout, I make a point of closing it/them. However, if my perception of what is the case in this real-life photo is correct, I'll be a bit less assiduous about making such adjustments. What do you think about open baggage-car doors?

Murph,

Open baggage car door on one side that might show some "baggage" would be nice.

Good point. :D I did have guilt about that when I saw those open doors.

Wait a minute. If there were open doors on a real-life baggage car, wouldn't the baggage go flying out?! :?

This is the closest I ever got to having baggage or packaging/crates/cartons open to the elements, and this is no railroad car. :)

She seems an official well-determined to organize things and have them go as planned. Eh? But where-o-where would she keep tickets, a hole puncher, and documents? Are you sure she works for the railroad, bub? And what circa would she fit into? I think you're kiddin' us.
She is clean, though. :D

P.S. How many of such photos do you have in your secreted little box hidden under some helpless piece of furniture, or godknowzwhereelse  :!: 8) ?

I'm pretty sure if asked she'd have a good and totally acceptable answer to your questions.

I would postulate that the look in her eyes has answered that query already.
