A competent barrista knows to put the "sip hole" opposite to the cup seal. Otherwise you gets a leak. Still, a little direction is useful for the clueless...

I guess that cup is from some coffee place.
I don't drink coffee and have no idea what a "sip hole" is.
I do remember cups with "dribble holes". I think they had a different purpose.
