Damn it Hev. That picture brings a tear to my eye. What were we thinking back then?

Was there music playing? I am guessing CCR.

I don't have a red-head.

Or do I?

She grew up on a cattle ranch, so is no stranger to critters. One day she jumped up from watching television, picked something at the TV and brought it over to me saying, "I think this is yours." I held my hand out and she dropped a live scorpion in it. Being picked up by the tail must have made it angry, because it stung me twenty times before I realized what was happening.

It did make a good flat car load after I gave it an attitude adjustment.

I'll save the story of her pet rattle snake for another time.

So what happens when you get stung by a scorpion? Is it like a black widow bite? or more like a bee sting?

I have never been stung by a bee, but have had hornets attack me in the face. The bark scorpion sting feels a lot like a hornet sting. It hurts for 10 to 15 minutes.

Some people experience unpleasant and temporarily debilitating systemic effects such as vomiting, cramps, blurred and wobbly vision, numbness, frothing at the mouth, difficulties in breathing (including respiratory paralysis), muscle twitching, convulsions, sensitivity to light, hypersalivation, difficulty swallowing, and agitation. Anaphylactic shock can occur due to allergic reactions. I had none of those effects. There is no redness or swelling from a scorpion sting (unlike spider bites.) It just hurts for a while then... nothing.

Treatment: Wash the sting site and take an aspirin for the pain.
