I know better, I guess I was lazy

Postby v8vega » Sat Jun 09, 2018 5:03 pm

Dumb me I just won on ebay a 8455 Rio Grande GP-7. I already have one and wanted another power one because I like to double head these Fundimensions plastic gear ones. Somehow I assumed this was power, it’s not its a dummy. So I paid way too much $34 + excessive shipping of $31.90 total $65.90. At least it’s NIB.

I don't see it listed as a dummy unit. Seller says. " tested for forward and backward motion.

Look at the pictures - trucks are unpowered and the box states it's a dummy unit - testing for forward and backward motion doesn't necessarily mean powered motions

I can no longer view photos in completed listing. Only thing I see is the seller’s main photo and description.

Weird. I had zero problem looking at them and the entire listing.

If you paid too much, what do you think it is worth?

Difficult, maybe. Try advanced search on item - "8455 Rio Grande GP-7" - sold items and then cross ref with price paid as noted by OP

Recently I noticed a new EBay "feature", look for a completed item, and instead of showing it, EBay gives you a similar item that is still available.
If you click on "listing" in the blue banner box, it takes you to the listing that you really wanted to see.

How long before EBay stops letting us see completed listings?

Who knows.....eventually they will probably close off completed listings except from the seller and buyer.

Put stuff on watch and if interested, save the pictures and print the listing to a pdf file.
