A little prize from Strasburg

Postby Rufus T. Firefly » Tue Apr 14, 2026 1:28 pm

Picked up this little treasure last Sat at the Strasburg meet. 1 of 3 items that came home with me. Probably exercised too much restraint, Not powered and looks to be on old Pittman trucks. All wood and so scratchbuilt. Some repairs to be done but not in bad shape all around. Not to power it and add a pole. Seems a little oversize so maybe 17/64ths.....

As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

Sweet, a classic “summer” car. They have one similar at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. I’ll be interested to see if/how you motorized that.

I have a single 4-wheel drive that I could put under this car as it's rather short.

But I think I'll be on the lookout for a short wheelbase drive pair while i go over it, clean it up, stabilize the broken bits, and glue up the broken joinery.
