I do recall this (or something very similar). Is this intended for use in maintenance, or is it for freight-hauling?

Usually maintenance applications. Endless variations on the work flat traction/trolley....and eventually I'll build a few of them. This was a restoration project - dates on this one were early 50's. Poles are really ornamental.....

Unfortunate that the photo does not contain the full front cab; maybe looking for other photos of that specific car might reveal more. I'm sure that they available. Lots of LVT photos are out there - popular line.

That crane is interesting and might take some time to fins something acceptably close. Maybe some white metal kit is "out there" somewhere.....worth saving for a snowy season.

The seller has a three quarters view of the cab front.

And you can get a pretty good look at the crane mechanism if you have the original. Those 8/10 contact prints (I am guessing it is a contact print) were remarkable for their resolution of small details.
