Closeout!

Postby ScaleCraft » Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:13 pm

Right. Like seller bought a truckload of PA-1 Williams chassis with no pilots, shells, sideframes, screws or ladders and decided to close them out for $150BIN plus shipping?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WILLIAMS-PA-1- ... 4485582626

And you get to find the parts?

So, here, you can buy a complete NEW PA set of two A units, complete, shells, sideframes, all of it, for $250?
That's $125 per unit COMPLETE.

https://www.westerndepot.com/index.php/ ... 389/page/1

Exactly how does this relate to selling for what it's worth again?

Shell and pilot from Botchmann is about $60 plus shipping, no sideframes available, front coupler? hardware?

You can be well over $100 MORE than a new one costs and still have the issue of unavailable sideframes.

Such a deal!

Oh, wait!

Some clown buys a Wiliams PA, pulls the chassis out, fabricates a new chassis with scale power blocks, good (not Kader Mabuchi's) motors and geartrain, swaps the shell, pilot, sideframes, and suddenly we have a CLOSEOUT!

And then sells the remnants off for far more than it's worth.

Probably bought one for those $250 a pair deals mentioned earlier....

He DID!

Here's the stripped out dummy chassis!

It's actually stupider and more nefarious than that, if you look deeply....

One always wonders when the visions of financial freedom from the sale of VINTAGE! RARE! COLLECTIBLE! or just plain old current production stuff fails to materialize...what shall I do...

I don't see much gain in what he is doing, after ebay juice and shipping to customer.
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes
