No Reserve...NYC F

When your opening bid is 300, that's a reserve.

Corroded, rusted way too bad....flanges are gone....paint shot, lettering shot, B unit warped beyond repair, ladders rusted, porthole glass missing, oh my.

"Storm damaged unit. Shell has great potential needs TLC."

You got storm or flood damage, douse them down with WD-40 as soon as you are able. Not 5 years of sitting in salt water later.

More likely a shipping container finally washed up on shore there in Hawaii.

$300 for a nice running set. This one is gonna be a money pit to try to resurrect.

Dave,
I have seen a few posts that are almost complaining about your posting and commenting on this stuff.
I think I have learned a few things as you point out the problems of these items.
Although these posts do not have a lot of comments they do seem to get some lookers.

Truth doesn't hurt unless it ought to, right?

I think it's model trains related fun!

Plus we get to poke fun at the absolute stupidity of some sellers.

It takes some time and effort to make a eBay listing and then to pack it up and mail it when you sell. If slim chance of getting any more than a few bucks why bother. I have good stuff I'd like to sell but don't bother but although far from rich I'm fortunate.

About 3-5 minutes...

and then to pack it up and mail it when you sell.

This can be work, but if you have time on your hands it's more constructive than sitting around watching TV.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And selling a lot of small lots for a few bucks finances my buying the detail parts for building what I want to build. Otherwise I'm storing stuff I have no use for......

In this case shipping is easy. Throw them both as-is in a big padded envelope. No one will be able to tell if there is more damage.
