2020 Turbine / 2349 NP

Postby ScaleCraft » Thu Dec 03, 2020 12:06 am

Blue collar antiques.
THREE bids, all the way up to $3.25!

My guess is non-salvageable. Looks like a early horizontal motor...water has most likely killed the motor windings, commutator, bets are nothing is left of the e-unit....worms (steel)...well, if the drivers look like that, probably not much left.

Pull the drivers, motor, glass bead and see what's left. Axles? Not likely.

Desperate COVID sale?

Odd.

I don't understand why someone would even bid on it.
Must be that Lionel name.

Looks as though it was deep sixed in salt water. I can't see how any of the parts would be salvageable.

9 bids at 33, plus shipping.

"Winner" is gonna get it and just pitch it.

Can you imagine trying to get the screws out?

SNAP!

And another. I LIKE 2349 NP Geeps. Have three.
$47 isn't bad, but this one same seller, same salt water immersion...except I think it was a septic tank. There is still toilet paper hanging off one end.

Tear down, glass bead frame and sideframes, repaint frame, then start buying parts to make it run again.

Where do they FIND these things?
