TM’s 21st Century Great Train Layouts – 2.

Postby Robert Bubeck » Tue Oct 10, 2017 8:47 pm

TM’s new video covers the construction and operation of four modern layouts with Modern Era trains rather than vintage toy trains. Three of the four layouts incorporate modern DCS and TMCC/Legacy control systems. The Grach family layout is a conventionally operated and very personalized modern hi-rail toy train layout that serves as a family scrap book. Dave Topping’s setup is Standard gauge with modern tinplate reproductions of Lionel and American Flyers from MTH and Lionel or modern creations such as the Lionel Hiawatha. The 3-rail scale world is well-represented by Jack Wheelihan’s empire incorporating the use of Kadee couplers and the use of weathering. Jack’s pike runs a lot of Sunset equipment as well as Atlas, and some Lionel and MTH. Ron Benner’s 3-rail hi-rail layout was constructed using Gargraves track and Ross switches, and it features Santa Fe diesel models. In each case, more detail than usual is given about the design and fabrication of the layouts and the friend and commercial helpmates who were involved in their construction. Great video and sound as always from the boys at TM.

Looked at the preview on the TM site. Looks enticing.
