What??? Let's read what I said more carefully... :?

I fail to see the words, "going to," in what I said. :D

We already have fast angle wheels.

Real railroads have 3° fast angle wheels, no need to complicate things.

Sorry Wayne, I didn't mean to commit you to anything. But, like I was saying, I didn't figure there was any car you could test now, that had wheels which turned on their axles - except postwar cars. Postwar axles don't turn, plus the wheels are held in gauge by swedges on the axles - not the most low-friction solution.

I already described what I did with a needlepoint axle truck. I haven't gotten around yet to trying the Hot Wheels-bearing truck. I'll need to turn some delrin or oilite bushings for that.

No, only one.
It was written in someone's propaganda that the Alton Ltd. was the prettiest train ever made. Of course everyone has their own tastes, and, mine tend to agree with that statement.
One thing is certain though, the K-Line engine built for this train is much better looking than the one Lionel did for the set!

I guess you didn't need all the cars, the real train was short, maybe 6 cars.

I was able to individually pick up a matching baggage car that just arrived today. I was impressed with that both arrived in three days.

I agree that the Alton train is pretty but also admit that I am partial to the B&O blue locos followed by blue and grey cars.

Southern Crescent was also quite pretty in green. There were a number of flagship steam trains with beautiful color schemes. The SP Daylight is another one I like.
