He will be wearing a blue & grey hound's tooth suit with vest, and a light blue shirt with French cuffs, brown shoes, blue socks, and a black Homberg. He will be holding 3 balloons in his left hand. Approach him from his left and ask, "Have the swallows returned to Capistrano?". If he replies, "No, but I have a hamster in my pocket.", then you have located George.

Actually the correct pass phrase is "the woods are lovely dark and deep". If you respond with the proper phrase, we're good. Otherwise, I have to make a phone call.

Call the FBI and ask for Special Agent Dale Cooper.

Son of a gun...that's what I was going to wear. Thanks for saving me from that embarrassment!

I probably won't get there until ten or so...plan to blitz the place then move on.

NoVa AMP show the next day down the street from you Rufus...maybe I'll wear a blue & grey hound's tooth suit with vest, and a light blue shirt with French cuffs, brown shoes, blue socks, and a black Homberg to that.

Yes I have to assemble the Staging Area tables and apply sealing primer to the walls.

Updated 5/5/2018:

It's been pretty crazy around here since I last updated the building thread. In the past 3 weeks I've:
  • Sold off some extraneous stuff
  • Acquired a Lionel Industrial Smokestack for use in my Open Hearth Mill
  • Attended York
  • Had 3 emergency repairs to the retina of my left eye. One of these caused me to miss the 2-rail Scale Show in Strasburg and a chance to shoot the breeze with Brian & Rufus
  • Given a clinic on "Modeling Weirton Steel" at an NMRA Division-level event in Pittsburgh
  • Received my Model Railroad Author Achievement Award
  • Started staining parts of the Staging Area wooden components for assembly

Oh, and the playoffs are going on!

Other than that, it's been pretty quiet.

George,
How about some more info in the Model Railroad Author Achievement Award.
Who is that from and how did you qualify? Sounds as if you have been busy.
Oh yes, CONGRATULATIONS.

The award is part of the NMRA's Achievement Program. Here are the categories. https://www.nmra.org/categories

I have 2 published articles in O Scale Trains, and an article in the Steel Mill Modeler's Journal. I wrote and presented 2 clinics at NMRA Division events. I also got credit for at least 3 of the photo expeditions (and their write-ups) on line.

All this happened over a number of years. The first clinic was done in 2009. The second was in 2011. The O Scale Trains articles were in 2015 and 2017. And the internet photo expeditions have occurred at various times over the past 5 years.

I think I looked at the requirements for this award about 2 years ago and realized it was within reach because of the work I had already done.

Thank you, Roger.

No worries, Healey. Then Penguins will retool in the summer, recuperate from 3 years on the championship treadmill, and be back to the top of the mountain shortly.

The Caps? Well even a blind pig gets an acorn once in awhile. Their ride will be shut-off by the Lightning.

P.S. I am now rooting for Fleury and the Vegas Knights.
