April 18, 2026 - Pittsburgh Model Railroad Jamboree - the best value in model railroading!

Keystone Division's Model Railroading Jamboree is Saturday, April 18, 2026

Join us in this valuable and inexpensive event; it really is the best value in model railroading.

For $60 ($50 if you are an NMRA member) you get:

  • A day of historical and how-to clinics (12 total) featuring 3-railers Bob Bartizek, Neal Schorr, Anthony Kulfan, and George Pandelios and other great clinicians.
  • Continental breakfast and lunch is included. We've been using this caterer for 4 years now - he is exceptional!
  • Contests (Motive Power, Rolling Stock, Structures, and Model Photos)
  • White Elephant Sale
  • Raffles (scale specific)
  • Displays
  • Layout tour (including a number of 3-rail layouts) on Sunday, April 19

For an additional $45 there is a banquet (buffet) at the end of the day. The speaker is celebrated local artist Kevin Yackmack. His topic "Painting Railroad History" will cover the process of creating art from subject selection to finished painting. This promises to be a fascinating topic and Kevin will be displaying some examples of his prize winning art at the Jamboree.

I've been attending this event every year since 2006. It's a wonderful source of inspiration, information, new ideas, and a chance to meet modelers with similar interests. There will be a number of 3-railers presenting and in attendance.

Here's the Jamboree page where you can register on-line: https://www.keystonedivision.org/jamboree_2026/index.html

If you're in the greater Pittsburgh area, join us! This is going to be a lot of fun!

All,

We are less than 2 weeks away from what promises to be an outstanding event - Division 2 Model Railroad Jamboree. Check out these clinics:
  • Bob Bartizek will discuss the lessons learned, design choices, operations approaches, and the focus on reliability that have made his fabulous Pennsylvania & Western a fun-to-operate layout that has hosted 250+ operating sessions over 20+ years. This is a chance to gain real knowledge in making your layout robust! I've operated on this layout and it is fantastic. OGR made a video about it! I'll be in the front row for this one!
  • Neal Schorr will give you his expert advice in creating small bridges as well as terrific railroad and highway overpasses. His engineering knowledge will help you achieve realism with these structures and take your layout to the next level. Neal is an absolute wizard at producing realistic scenery and structures. This is also a clinic I'm personally attending.
  • If you model storage tank facilities as well as their loading / offloading structure, you won't want to miss Anthony Kulfan's clinic on these. He's taken their construction to the next level. This one's on my list as well.

These clinics alone are worth the price of admission. But we're also going to feed you breakfast and lunch, as well as provide access to 9 more clinics. And there are contests, scale specific raffles, a white elephant sale, and more. And we are still taking reservations for dinner (until April 10). All of this is just $60 for non-NMRA members (a 9-month RailPass trial membership is included). That's less than the cost of a new high-end freight car these days. And there's a layout tour the next day!

Don't delay. You can check out the entire event and register here: https://www.keystonedivision.o...oree_2026/index.html

All,

If you're interested in attending and enjoying the banquet at the end of the day, please register no later than tomorrow - April 10. We need to get a number to the caterer (who's really good, by the way).

Thanks!

George
