I know what it is. Threw one away.

This is real pristine.

Siderod missing, crankpin bolts missing, siderod and counterweights on tender booster truck missing...NO metal tires, so does NOT have the much rarer power kit.

What were they, $19.95 new?

And he wants 300?

No comment on worth or desirability.

snicker.

A lot of fiction in the seller's description too. Whew.... "rare" ?

This may be worse on the fiction side:

Nothing to do with a Great Northern Y-1

Actually, that isn't the worst part. Whoever "horned frog" is, this is worthy of the Bernie Madoff award.

Parts: No parts. Very few small bits are not folded, bent, spindled or mutilated.

Condition: Used
“Very Good condition.”
Horse manure.
THREE carbody bent ends.
THREE carbody mangled sides.
ONE horribly mangled roof structure.
Several end platforms, some twisted junk.
No floors, no frame, no trucks, motors, sideframes, seller seems to have snagged headlights.
What is that pile of melt in one end?

International? This was probably a UPS shipment. You can see the solder joints that broke.

Rest of the parts? Oh, we'll use them for something else, sell the trash for (reserve!) twenty five or BIN it at fifty. Plus shipping.

There is gonna be some moron has to have it.

He does state that that's a hunk of lead that someone soldering there.....

It is an IMP import built in the 50s by KTM - that part from the seller (or the parts) is correct, but it's for an ED1618 and that's an Jpn boxcab. That was my point on fiction by the seller. Looks nothing like a Y-1. Also, solder on these was either silly heavy handed or so light that they fall apart if handled.

Horse manure.

That's worth more than these scraps. I could do something with the sides if they were not a mess.

Alexander truck sideframes - worth at least something (not $100).

Some rust? "Wheels have rust". Eaten away so badly they need to be replaced. And the axles.
Good thing, so you can install scale, insulated wheels to run with the twin can motors. Bearings shot. Depth of water indicates motor windings impacted.
Sorry, the shipping exceeds any value.
Somebody wants it. 32 bids right now.

I would have thought Alexander would have been bronze. Flaking paint indicates pot metal of some sort?

Curious - what's it show for shopping to you? $11 to me.

Couple of somebodies want it...but even that body shell is dubious.

Might be later copies?

You did see tinplate flanges? Pickup rollers? Don't see any rectumfriers.
Special can motors. AC powered.

I saw the rust and corrosion, and stopped. With that condition, nothing further really mattered.
