If CLW, it looks bent and maybe missing “stuff” on the trucks. A tad overpriced. Opinion.
I would say $100 for the body, shipping closer to $15, and it would be ok. I might have a truck fragment to donate to one wise enough to get it at a reasonable price.

I agree. The body shell was assembled neatly, but it will have to be completely stripped so that the railings can be unsoldered and replaced. The grab irons also need to be replaced with correctly bent ones and as long as the body is stripped, you might as well replace the fans with better castings.bob turner wrote:If CLW, it looks bent and maybe missing “stuff” on the trucks. I think it will need $150+ worth of parts -- new stanchions, gears, wheelsets, truck sideframe parts, paint and decals. One photo seems to show that the motor is still inside, but if it's not there (or gone bad) then that's another part that will also have to be replaced.

If it were a hundred or less, I just might have gotten it; I have a CLW N&W high hood GP35 and this one as a dummy would suit me just fine.

I saw the link quoted. That is messed up bad. Nose looks askew of the rest, cab is pulled up from frame/battery boxes, still has the motor but it hit hard enough to badly dent the fuel tank. Sideframes don't look parallel any longer. Of course, the easy observation is no wheels, axles or gearboxes...and some journal boxes gone.
Handrail fixable. Whoever did the engine wasn't sure how to make the lettering level.
At least of the cast truck bolsters is sprung. Bottom of coupler boxes gone. Cab awnings gone. Seems short hood end bulkhead may be popped loose.
$25, and mount it strapped to a flatcar being hauled away from an accident.

Same seller. NOT 0, but hilarious:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155091233811
I know these POS things. Made by Botchman for Lionel. Axle connectors split, gears crack...I had one, threw it away.
Take a close look at the tender shell.
$75?
Worth what it sells for?
Maybe they "fixed" the drive. Most likely not.
Man.

Waste of a flatcar.......and $25.

Not like my Kemtron. So much damage, so much missing parts.
One of our forumites thinks Kemtron or USH.
Well, even though it's "sold", BrassTrains had a USH all done for $495
https://www.brasstrains.com/Classic/Pro ... 161-Custom
Buy the POS unit, strip, straighten, resolder, repair, find new trucks, gearboxes and shafts, paint and letter it...and you'll be easy $600.
I could fix it. Not really enough energy any more, but if driven to it, I could.
I have A-N gearboxes and wheels.
But I swore decades ago, no imported brass here.
Closest is the Kemtron I have.

So. Seller had no clue. Started as a GP9, 2500. Then GP9 99. Finally GP35, BIN at 250.
Yeah, it's a GP35. Brass Trains sold a new kit for $295:

except looking at the bags of parts, has AAR trucks.
Originally new at $161.
Damaged unit has high hood. Every one I have seen has low hood. Musta been a N&W special. Odd, since there was no hood roof detail for steam generator.

Underside of end beams looks different than damaged unit. That one sold, complete, for $370.

Fourth shows AAR equalizer bar...as does five. And I can see Blomberg leafs in both.
Did the bag of parts come with both style trucks?

Other photos show packing lists of parts; however, that presumes trust.
