Did I ever show you this? My brother got to ride in the cab for a couple miles between Fairbank and Sonoita. We both got to pull the throttle a teeny bit. Locomotive still exists, but not sure of its condition after 70 years of display. Barely visible caboose is/was also a display item for decades in Benson.

Interesting. And here I thought that the "Daylight" scheme was gaudy!

Actually, the locomotive paint schemes were quite ornate and colorful in the early days until
austerity measures were instituted during the later half of the Ninetenth Century...
Steam locomotives were weren't always "basic black"!

This paint was for Oklahoma! We got to watch one of the stars dance on the caboose roof.
