New Haven GE EP3 New Haven big green juice box by Parmele & Sturges

Postby Carey Williams » Sun Mar 28, 2021 1:20 am

Hello all,...you may wish to see a Parmele & Sturges New Haven electric in motion ...running with outside 3rd rail ( of course) . Roughly 1938-41...postwar offered by Baldwin in the the 50's.
Cast bronze ..this one has two motors ...not well matched ..so two cats in a bag ..but she moves.
Need to match her up with a few Alexander Osgood & Brady coaches ...all in good time ..
Cheers Carey

Yeah, neat. Some still shots of those ancient passenger cars? Now I have to dig up a P & S shot for this thread.

Since powered with CLW gearboxes and 9432 Pittmans. Doesn't get run very often, and I have no ancient 17/64 coaches to go behind it. I standardized on the smaller 1/4" scale Walthers, but of course they run on Lobaugh trucks.

Seller is using Carey's video with permission - Wasp is Carey. This one will need some serious work, but it is now a rare antique doorstop. A piece of history.

Hello all

Yes it is my listing .. I had two of the EP3 's and did a merger to get the best one for the collection .. one on ebay just needs a bit more love before polishing the rails . I linked to the video ...as I think one of these in motion gives the engine a whole new feel instead of just a shelf / box queen .. so far I've inspired one new outside 3rd rail layout being born ! ...never know could be the up and coming new / old thing ..

Bob's yours's is prettier ...

the passenger cars are just old Walthers nothing outstanding just survivors..one hand lettered which if done well is always a plus in my book .

Cheers Carey

I am suitably impressed. I never sell anything, but for that price mine would be on its way. I might even test it first. $736 +$43 shipping. What's happening?

It's not worth being the second guy to the party. I have tried that with a few items. One time some antique motorcycle parts went sky high. I pulled out some of the exact parts. Tossed them up on eBay and waited. Well the thrill was gone. No frenzy bidding. I got about half of what the first guy got. Most of the time the high bidder has no reason to buy a 2nd.
