I hate to sound like Dave - this one is overpriced by almost an order of magnitude. Cute, but semi worthless. Hundred bucks if it runs.

Now all I gotta do is get Martin to sound like me.
Rough. Those were poor performers. Light duty if you didn't want to wear them out fast.
Made cheap and sold cheap.
Like Bob said, if it even runs well.
80 grit sanding grooves in the tender sides? He says "polished with emery cloth" or some such.
Paint ALL has to come off then bead blast and hope it sticks.
Add in twenty to ship, even a hundred is too much. Fifty maybe, just looking at the amount of work and the question on runability. He says it runs, but that is a question to be ascertained by "winner".
All Nation tender....for originality purposes, kills half the value.

Remember those commercials with the tag line: The closer you get, the better she looks!
NOT in this case.

Unfortunate. Overpriced but I have seen these sold for over $400 in Chicago. Never understood that, but if sellers and buyers are able to agree on such, good for them.
Sadly it is the size of engine that I would like to have, but too much work, too much money, and too little time at my end.
But if you see one for your assessed prices, please grab it for me.
Curiously, someone disagrees with all of us as there is a bid on it already.

I always thought it would be fun to trick one out. New drive, extra details, etc. A sleeper, if you will. Just not at the listed price.

The quality is not there. Materials are flimsy; castings are zamac or lead alloy. Gave mine to Corey. He appreciates the historical significance, which is all these things have going for them.

Carey has an incomplete one listed....

Price is right. Quality still isn't there, unless those are cast iron drivers. The pilot casting is worth something.

Listing is a good example of how using two sheets of white cardboard will dramatically improve the photos of the item(s) being auctioned.

Does not take a little effort or a lot of brain to put some sort of back drop behind items to be sold - a little effort on presentation goes a long ways as well as having photos that are in focus.

I would consider that a very good deal.
Why?
Hasn't been messed with. No paint to scrape off. Makes the new owner responsible for appearance and operation.
The only downside is wondering if ALL the parts are there. Has a tender, which in this day and age of evilbait hawkers splitting locos and tenders to increase PROFIT is a nice change.
If I needed another, that would do nicely.

Let's see where it ends up -- read through the description; not clear that it's actually complete and those drivers have a nice crust of rust on them, and some Zamac parts are apparently compromised.
