My shop has real spatial limits - the walls are not moveable now. The rest of it is tightly occupied with power tools such as a radial arm saw, floor drill press, wood lathe, and a band saw. I did take out and trade away the joiner several years ago. That freed up space is now occupied by a rack of kits and projects as well as about 15% of my scale lumber. BTW, I'm selling off some of my stock of scale lumber.........

I like those ends. That's what I do to give my cars more heft and tracking ability - plus a bigger gluing surface.

Just old scrap pine in the shop - something good and solid to build around and onto that's not going to fail later.

For heft and tracking ability, I also am known to put a sheet of 2-3 mm lead on the floor, :wink: :wink:
