Maroon and Gold
Almost got an MTH Maroon and Gold BiPolar for $130. One other 2-railer beat me to it - probably a good thing, since repowering things is low on my list. Still, that is about as good as it gets.

The converse can also be true.

Probably true more often than my example.

Seems to be the case.....and another good reason to me to not be buying stuff. I've got enough work in my shop and stacked up in project boxes to last me.

Re: Maroon and Gold
I lose, because I have this desire for a die cast Bipolar. I win because I have no place to put it, and if I owned it it would slow down the Erie-Built project, and probably force me to buy a 21" Skytop.
But it was not the exact paint job I want, so there is that. Do you know how much work it would be to power one of these things? Four motors? I would have to machine all new drivers, probably.
Dodged a bullet?

Bob, They were done in 2 rail by Custom Brass and maybe somebody else. I've only seen CB. What I'm getting to is that you might be able to find one and not need to mess with it so much. Might cost more up front, but weigh that against TURNER BUCKS (as in Labor), and from what I've seen of your rates as YOU list them, it might be cheaper. What is the color combination you are looking for. All the ones I've seen are kinda interesting.

Re: Maroon and Gold
I have seen the Custom Brass version. This is strictly opinion:
The brass versions of the Bipolar are not worth repowering.
I have not actually studied the die cast models, but suspect they are a bit more substantial. And anyway, if I get desperate, the exact one I want is only $450 or so - two tanks of Avgas. And MTH produced a 2-rail version a while back, I think.
Still, I am long since out of shelf space, and that is one house and two aircraft hangars full.

Oh, yeah - my only interest in Milwaukee power is if they have those stainless "Hiawatha" nose pieces. That, I think, includes the Skytop.
Too bad I don't do scenery - that country east of Coeur d'Alene is beautiful! You can barely see the railroad any more.

Ive had great success running Proto 3.0 engines using DCS on my 2 Rail layout. And being an MR fan I’ve decided to go with this newest MTH bipolar:

Possibly so and not unlike the philosophy that I have tried to embrace.
I need to work on what I have and to only buy that which I need to complete those projects. More projects and any more that I really cannot even make real use of need to be going to someone else's home and not mine.
However, I think I do need a Crayola Crayon car now.

Wrong car, Jon. I was referring to the latest 3 page debacle: https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/lio ... ar-problem

I am not a collector, I am a prototype modeler. This helps me to keep my purchases under control. If a locomotive is not of my chosen road and era, I simply do not buy. Same applies to rolling stock and having a specific era keeps me from owning one or more of everything with flanged wheels. This simple approach aids in keeping my hobby expenditures under control.
