I am finding that items that I have forgotten about are now rapidly moving to the For Sale pile.

That pile is now becoming rather large.

Jon,

That's a nice looking NS engine. I'll have to look thru my photos, that number rings a bell for some reason. I used to go to Petersburg with a friend to take photos where the NS crosses under CSX at Collier Yard and of course down Route 460 from Petersburg to Norfolk.

I am not a an of sounds other than bell, whistle/horn but the sounds in O scale do sound like a locomotive especially when compared to
anything from smaller scales. I recently heard two guys arguing about which HO locos had the best sound. The ones they were discussing
were on a layout in front of them. To me they sounded like white noise.

O scale, too. After being less than two feet from six SD-45s with a hundred or so loaded hundred-ton coal hoppers notching up from about two or three mph, no on-board sound can come even remotely close. The ground shook!

While not personally compelled by the sound card feature I will say, having recently run state of the art units on a few friends layouts, that it does contribute to the operating effect or over-all realism if it's balanced down volume-wise to the ambient sound in the room and not blaring over everything, such that it diminishes with distance, leaving the click-clack as one would hear with the real thing.
Pretty cool, though I admit I like the motor sounds of older models a lot too, if not moreso.

As long as it does not drown out the Dimmu Borgir........

Rufus,
Dimmu Borgir????? I don't know what I think.
I know I shouldn't ask but What should I think?
Why?
Do YOU like these performances? Why?
Maybe I am just too far removed to understand
or to put it another way, too old.

They amuse me, and have had a long &successful career - room for everything.

But the female singer is excellent!
