Listed by one of the better Ebay seller's with a great following. With the number of Pennsy modelers, it will probably sell. Interesting story line.

I agree Steve, always a great seller to deal with. He and Katy Limited are my favorite "small batch" sellers.

That said, I wonder if this big gal would make it around my 36" curve!!??

Excellent price for this car. He purchased some of the KOH's rejected cabooses as well as these rejected cars. I've looked and looked but I can't see what made these cars rejects, but I could be missing something. I know Bill Davis bought some rejected cars as well and most likely this is what put him in the brass freight car importing business.

It is articulated. Unless there is serious underbody detail in the way it ought to go around any curve that a single truck could go around. Probably look silly on 36" radius, but I bet it would make it.

Yes and GK will deny every thing you say about this subject .He just hates to get a phone call from Mark Russel CEO of Wilcox International. Story I herd about this is GK stuck him for 6 Challengers. Money paid but never delivered that's 35K.

And, I believe this is why no Korean builder will deal with KOH's anymore and he's moved to China. Too many rejected projects (that might have had minor issues) and even good projects that took too long to pay for. The Challengers were imported in batches back in 2013 and the street talk was that this was due to money and it's still up in the air if any remained with Mr. Lee, the builder. There are other importers who work with these same Korean builders and they do hear the true story. :wink:

As stated, I'm not positive how many models didn't get delivered and Bill's comment is the 1st actual name I've heard. I was told in a phone conversation with GK, in November of 2013, my chosen road number didn't make it on the 1st shipment. Lots of reasons and/or justifications why, but, upon furthering questioning I was offer a different road number (in stock) and took it. By this time I was completed spooked by GK :shock: :shock: as his stories and excuses in previous conversations, although plausible, just didn't make sense and I didn't want to be caught holding the proverbial bag. Tainted me completely on this type of ordering.

You lose! Says on the Kohs website: "The Minimum Operating Radius on proper trackwork is 48". Probably even looks silly on 48"R. :shock: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Looking at the car, it's more about weight than length, with those huge trucks there to accommodate the weight. Interesting piece, but NOT an item that is high on my want list! Actually, NOT on the list at all.

Yeah, it's a really cool freight car, but I've never been big into putting good money into brass freight cars. I guess I'm just a cheap *ss.

While interesting also very unique and of limited value to me.........right at the edge of if you gave it to me for free, I'd be selling on eBay about an hour later.

Saw one of these (maybe the same one) at the York TCA show at a table across from Scott Mann. Bob Heil knows the guys who were at the table. It was priced at $750. Had no idea with a GK reject, but looked good to me. I bet they never found their way down on the Southern, so even as cool as it is, I will probably eternally pass. Plus the little mini layout I've started on has a max radius of maybe 40.5" anyways.
