Had to dig for this thread. As of today a Lobaugh Mikado is listed on eBay with a reserve not met. It contains the following text:

NICELY ASSEMBLED from the Original Lobaugh Kit. Big Can motor runs nicely, needs new electrical connection for tender

My comment: poorly assembled using a Berkshire mechanism, a Pacific boiler, and a weird tender. For those seeking a genuine pre-war Lobaugh Mike, this is not it. Had me worried when I first glanced at it - last thing I need is another Lobaugh Mike.

Bid all the way up to $293, which is about top dollar for such a conglomeration. Did not meet reserve, and is re-listed. The seller has five stars, so maybe he thinks this really is a genuine Lobaugh Mike? Those are indeed $500 models, although you occasionally luck out at $300 for a nice one.

Interesting Sunset Mike here. It looks SP - could it be one of the 1990s 3rd Rail, stripped of paint, or did Mort do an SP?

Price is good for now, but I sure do not need more Mikes.

I might be wrong (often am) but that one is Mort era in HO, if memory of my years back in brass dealing serves.

Are you saying Ron built that one, or is there some news of Ron?

BTW, last photo shows the loco to be seven inches long or so; bit short for an O Scale USRA Mike...

Yes, reading the description (and the listing title...) oft times provides information:

Up for auction another Sunset Model Brass Locomotive. Measures a little over 7in in length. Not sure of working condition or if missing any detail pieces. Selling as is with lots of photos for you to see condition. Thank you.

There has been a bit of HO scale brass being cross listed for sale in O scale categories of late - an attempt to reach collectors? Whatever. It's useful to pay attention to the details and all of the information that is provided.

I saw the ruler, but it did not connect. I think I know Ron too - someplace in the Tampa area?

My eBay searches have a difficult time filtering out stuff like HO, H.O., and N.

or the title:
Vintage Sunset Models Korea 7in Brass Locomotive (t1)

One of the others on that page is this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/O-scale-Genera ... 3678767261?

How hard is it to take photos that are not BLACK? KTM gearbox....not for me. But not a bad price if you could see it, and not interested enough to save and lighten each photo.

Opinion.
