Wolf,

Sounds like a circuitous way of getting the trucks I need, but it may be the only way I'll ever see them.

I emailed Rich Yoder yesterday, haven't heard back yet. I spotted a list of RRs known to use them here:

http://resincarworks.com/tahoe/tmw_101_info.pdf

I need to send that data to Rich.

You could fund them. Billy or Rich would probably be delighted to have you finance the project. They both have the requisite experience. I would guess that a return on investment here would be slightly better than, say, shelf couplers. You might break even in the end.

I would, but I haven't won the lottery lately (can't even win a free ticket with my luck, plus I have to play to win).

Maybe I'll try something with the Keil Line trucks to make them appear better (all ideas are welcome :) ).

SAL Fan---I can tell you from personal experience that Rich is persuadable in producing trucks. When I mentioned
that I was VERY interested in the Bettendorf T Section truck that he had just announced and I asked where in the production
queue it was, he immediately moved it up off the end to toward the beginning when he heard how many sets I was
willing to purchase and that I was also willing to provide advance payment to further the production along. I'm just not
sure whether an order for a set or two would provide the same incentive for a quick production.

The Keil Line truck is still available from Scale City, but I have no suggestions on how to improve their appearance.

And lastly, I came across this listing on eBay last night, is it the truck you are pursuing? The shape of the bolster
looks like it may be correct, but those "airey springs"  just distracted me to the point of confusion!
If so, perhaps you may not have to buy that SP drop-bottom gondola to get them. (rats! I was SO willing to take that
"useless" de-trucked gondola carcass off your hands!    ). And it looks like Pacific Limited may have h
had at least several models using those trucks.

I tried to place the link to the item here, but wasn't successful, so you'll have to do it the "old-fashioned way"
and type the info in the eBay Search field by hand

Completed eBay listing for Pacific Limited O Scale Brass Trucks, item #182470437788, which you can find
using the Advanced Search function as it is a closed BIN item.

It was there one minute, and when I returned to the listing a short time later, it had already been scarfed up  .
So if you weren't the one who BIN'ed it, and if it's "the ONE", maybe another one will show up?
Take care,
Wolfgang

I think I may have found a work-around for showing that eBay listing.

So, are these the proper Dalman trucks that you seek?
Take care,

I believe so, but I think there's a few springs missing off the model truck, maybe fell out. The bolster and stepped sides look right.

I wonder if I could modify the Keil Line sideframes by opening them up to accept real springs???

Heard from Rich Yoder and sent him more photos/data.

If any of you folks see him in Chicago please mention these trucks. According to one of the online sites, the following RRs used them:

ATSF
CN
CP
CNJ
CB&Q
CNW
IC
MP (and subsidiaries I-GN and StLB&M)
NP
RI
SP
and of course SAL!

BobD,

Will you be going to Chicago? I got to thinking about the Pacific Limited trucks and remembered I have some. I looked at my stash of brass trucks and found a couple of sets. Like the other photos being shared, these look to be missing the outermost springs. If it were me, I would replace all the springs with something that looks a little more prototypical.

Jay,

Not this year. I missed the only O-scale show in this area a couple of years ago so maybe one next year.

I am with Jay. Those springs look decidedly unrealistic. The best coil springs were Lionel, in their 700 trucks. I actually prefer cast simulated springs to those curleycues (sp?).

Ok, so all you need a regular size truck bolster to replace the P48 one...
