I put the Lobaugh Pacific up on rollers and it turned over with just a few volts. That was encouraging. By good chance our local club had our annual business meeting this Saturday and it was held at Brady McGuire's up in Sherman, Texas (hour drive north of Dallas). Brady has a nice operating layout so I gave the Pacific a test run. This image is from a video:

It ran very well. We have a show next weekend and I hope to have a string of SP heavyweights in tow. More photos to come and maybe some video too.

Maroon,

I came across a photo of the SP P-13 class. Your loco looks similar to that. It even had the same trailing truck as your loco has. I'm sure one of the guys knowledgeable in the SP locos can comment further.

Jim and I have been ruminating. While one can "SP" ize these things, the SP never had anything close to a USRA Light Pacific. Even the Lobaugh misses the "USRA" mark.

So we thought "ACL" - and maybe "MoPac". It turns out that the MoPac class 6445 is really, really close. This locomotive will have three Jay C parts installed on it. Thanks, Jay.

Yes -- one of the handrail posts was whacked upon arrival:

Another was missing outright, though I do find the substitute interesting:

A third one is just a big solder blob. Bob said he had three he could send me and mentioned that Jay had sent them to him. Hopefully this will not make Jay think twice about sending anything to Bob in the future. :?

Thanks to both Bob and Jay.

More soon

Bob was wondering where his Pacific thread was and by chance I was looking at it just the other day. I need to get "after repairs" photos of my Lobaugh discussed above, but for now I will post a photo of one my favorite Lenoir:

Bump. I think there are K4s in here. Couldn’t’t find a dedicated Scale Craft Pacific thread - don’t know how to force an “and” function in the search box.

Sort of messed with the Lobaugh B&O P1 Pacific. This is the only one I have ever seen, except for the catalog photo. Scale Craft tender-surely there is a spare Lobaugh Pacific tender around here?

Thanks for posting the photo. I have never seen one of these outside the catalog.

It was introduced in the 1941 catalog, so there are not many out there.

And looking at that "bump" from a couple months ago, I am once again confronted with our search function. I wanted to find Maroon's "Freight car of the week" thread, since I have a freight car to share (thanks, Corey). Well, guess what? "Freight Car of the Week" contains common words, such as "Freight", "Car,' and of course "Week." So somebody bump that thread for me.
