That makes sense to me.

Delrin would be good - tough and non-conductive.

It's too cold today to do anything but look for a piece of material to turn my fingertips are already split/cracked, don't need to prolong the agony

Finally got back to building turnouts, I'm on turnout number 6 now, 13 to go.
Don't know when I'll start the tear down/rebuild, my daughter, her husband, and grandson Logan are coming home from a 3-year stint in Sicily and I don't know if I can find the time until they get into their own house.
In the meantime I will keep making these turnouts!

I wondered how it was all going...stay on track and it will all get done.

Well...I made a curved turnout and didn't even know it
The 5th one I made kicked my butt the whole time, nothing seemed to flow smoothly. But I "goterdun" and set it aside to start on #6. Last night I picked up #5 and saw I have a 1/4" bend in the long stock rail, making it a reverse curved turnout
After I complete #6 I'll go back and redo #5, hate the thought of pulling ALL those spikes up, but that'll teach me not to do it again.
Sometimes you need to get up and walk away.

So progress comes in many forms apparently...lessons learned...time well spent. Remember each time you actually do something constructive there are lots of wannabees out there who mostly just talk and dream and do little else. Plus your becoming a 2railer Bob...there's a gain to really smile about.
I've been busy building this car float yard and waterfront. Many hours...much enjoyment.

Very nice Robert!!! Looks like part of the Elizabeth River down here...if it had some Elizabeth River "Brown Trout" floating on the surface. You know, those ugly, smelly fish tapered on both ends

Are you referring to OST Marty? If so I've never tried that...photo quality issues being a concern.
Thanks for the nice words gentlemen.

Robert, if all your photos are like the one above, you'll have no problems with quality!
