I think you can find it on you tube. Look for Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific.

Stout had another auction of 2-rail brass and Joe Fischer cars earlier today:
November 16, 2019 Williamsport, Indiana; The Pre & Postwar collection of Ron Scoza & A wonderful group of O scale brass trains
The 2-rail items begin with lot #5375.

One interesting result was the A-B-B-A set of FTs that sold for $475:
#5405, Hallmark Models O Scale Brass Two Rail Santa Fe FT A-B-B-A Diesel Locomotive Set
The price strikes me as low since $118/each is what quality HO plastic diesels used to sell for.... but, on the other hand, Overland, 3rd Rail and Key all did better versions of the FT, so it makes sense to me that the Hallmark version wouldn't command a premium price.

Also interesting were the Overland Milwaukee Road coaches (items #5452 thru #5455) that sold for $110/each. I'm not familiar with these -- did 3rd Rail do the same cars?

An Overland RSD15 went for $1400: Overland Models O Scale Two Rail Brass Santa Fe DL-600 Diesel Locomotive - Weathered
I think all the OMI RSD15s I've seen sell on ebay went for four figures, so there seems to be a demand for models of that prototype, but I don't recall any threads lobbying Scott Mann to do it. I wonder why?

Quite interesting Chris; (opinion) clearly again the auction phenomena making folks add $$ to bids on some items that usually go for about half on E-Bay or at a good sized show these days. On the other hand, some things going the other way too.
Notably for me in both cases
That Westside RF&P General got a lot of love, thinking Stout blew their appraisal range by a significant factor on this.

I noticed the Hallmark FT set too, and thought it went for a true bargain, always thought they were really nice looking and as I recall had sturdy KTM like drives though that just may be what the ran like after someone re-worked them. They sure looked great at the time.

Think the OMI pre-war Hiawatha cars and some of the PRB's went for a bargain too, no way anyone's beating OMI detail on these but you know there's the issue with them de-soldiering themselves in operation, very fragile seam work. In contrast PRB's are the finest and sturdiest brass passenger car bodies I have ever finished bar none.

The close price on that DL-600, albeit a cool unit, is a mystery to me for sure.
Thanks for the link.

Stout had another auction of 2-rail brass and a few Joe Fischer cars earlier today: May 2020 O Scale and O Gauge - Friday Session

Many of the items were ready-to-repair, like this caboose that had lost its steps: Oriental Limited O Scale Brass Two Rail 04587 Great Northern 25' Outside Braced Caboose. Stout's descriptions did disclose a lot of the damage.

There were some possible good deals such as this Alco FA A-B set with DCC and sound that sold for $170: O Scale Brass Two Rail Great Northern Alco FA A-B Diesel Locomotive W/ DCC And Sound. I presume these FAs were not bid up because they are too old to be attractive to modelers who want state of the art but too new to be collectable by the doorstop gang.

A Pecos River Brass El Capitan 8-car set went for $1,600, or $200/car before fees.

The surprise of the day (to me) was this plastic kitbash that sold for $1300 before fees: Custom Atlas O O Scale Two Rail Great Northern NW-5 Diesel Locomotive W/ DCC And Sound. It is a very nicely done model but I just didn't expect someone would pay $1,300+ for it..... heck, $1300 is what a OMI UP FEF-1 ($700) and a KTM NYC Mohawk ($600) sold for.

Another interesting model was this OMI tank-drive diesel repowered with a CLW drive: Overland Models O Scale Two Rail Brass Santa Fe DL-600 Diesel Locomotive

My nomination for the "most likely to be the topic of an OGR thread right before the thread started lists it on ebay" category are the Fred Bernhardt RS-2 and the Bernhardt EMD GP35. The RS3 sold for $275 but includes a flyer showing it was originally purchased for $1,050; the GP35 sold for $250 but its flyer says it was originally purchased for $1,350.

As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

hello all it is estimated that Joe Fisher made about 3,000 of his passenger cars so there are plenty to go around. Mack Lowery at his Peak was estimated to have over 500 of Fisher cars. Estimated that over 90% of the Fisher cars are the standard heavyweight Pullman types. I prefer the streamlined Fisher cars ..here is a link to see a Central Lines / Exacta E unit pull a string of Fisher cars ..

I'm absolutely blown away by the prices for some of the Lionel items. Working cattle pen ($1650) Aquarium car ($500) prewar boxcar ($450). I guess Lionel collecting is still going strong.

Lends credence to the old line: "The difference between men and boys if the price of thier toys." That said, if I ever buy an aquarium car, just shoot me.

I'll make a note of it.

Keep in mind I'm on the fence regarding the crayon car! (that's the only one I could think of that is sillier than the aquarium car).

Venture Capitalists....or greedy bastXrds. Sort of puts another nail in the coffin of "it sold for what it's worth" or "it's worth what someone will pay for it". Greed and avarice enter into the equation, actual value has little or nothing to do with it.

Did it sell at Seacrest for too little? Is the VC selling it for too much? Is there more value to be squeezed from the item?

Fun to watch.

Maybe.

Nah.
