Nothing special about Dio-sol - formula for that is on my computer somewhere.....

Photos are in very short supply around here.

That's not the only thing there's a shortage of around here.

Not a terribly bad thought.

I set you up with the answer in Indianapolis, Martin. It is the only answer there is going forward, remember denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Oh, I have not forgotten nor discarded that option at all. I am only pursuing every possible option available. Ultimately, you are correct :!:

TruColor Paints are pretty good match for the MoPac colors - the blues are different for Jenks Blue as well as Eagle Blue. They also have the corresponding colors for Eagle Yellow and Gray.

As to Ow5 origins, I was not aware of the individual who coined the term. Without that background, it seems to be an apt a descriptor as On3/On30/etc. Then of course, the P:48 term uses a different convention.

Thanks for the tip Gregg, I have no experience with TruColor paints, as we have a fairly large larder of old Scalecoat and Floquil, But I'm thinking I will have to procure some as they're offering more than one road specific color that I'm going to need as I move past my current interests (SP, PC, L&N etc)

I, too, can recommend Trucolor. It's acetone-base, so easy to deal with and shoots like a solvent based paint should. It's nice stuff and I do have some that is three years old now and still viable. I don't tend to keep a hoard like I did with Scalecoat and Floquil, but buy it as needed for a project.

Gregg, you can PM me if you want to know the tawdry tail. Meanwhile, you know this culture. Memories are very long here; God knows how many I've pissed off for life over some mag editorial fifteen years ago.

Sarge, I quite counting at 100,000, it was just becoming too time consuming keeping track. :D :D :D :D

But, the entertainment value is/was priceless. I rather enjoy seeing the status quo shaken up from time to time.

Beautiful car Bill! You blew me away when you started with a Wasatch UP car, but the ends results more than justify the modification and it has to be the best car of this type on the planet! Do I hear Greggs keyboard shorting out from the drool. :D :D :D

I grew up in MO, but came a little late to the party to see these beautiful trains. By the time I was paying attention, MP was running solid blue locos.

Your thinking ot the car I did before this one it was the Baggage RPO car that was back dated to a MP car from a Wasatch car
by cutting a 2 1/2 x 5 hole in the side and and adding the door and moving a door. Cost me $1000.00 serious and then did that.
Most people call me insane.

Yep, you're right, I had them confused. We'll if getting exactly what you want/need is insane, then there are a lot of us who can join you. Modifying that Wasatch car took some big kahunas, but you have the talent to do it right.

Yep....every MP/TP car he builds is drool worthy. Even better in person. Bill's cars are truly works of art.

Unfortunately, they were all Jenks blue when I grew up too - but, I also like the Jenk's blue. If it's MoPac, it's OK in my book.

I've stocked up on TCP paint - the solvent will leach out of the plastic bottles, but all you have to do is add more solvent and the paint springs back to life.

Thank you for the very kind words. I am presently finishing up on the Pullman Dome car. the finished model will be at this years
meet at O scale West 2018 May 24 - 28 in Santa Clara Calif Hyatt Hotel. this is the best meet on the west coast.
So Gregg and others I hope to see you there. We will have 3 tables this year with our resin parts and Brass models for sale.
