Picked this up recently for $250. Partially converted 3-rail piece. Mechanism tests fine.
Good thing I know how to resistance solder. One of the pluses about resistance soldering is that you strip away a small portion of paint where one needs to complete the circuit and where it is soldered. The head of PBL once told he received a shipment of damaged brass pieces, something like 50. He was able to resolder all the pieces without paint damage.

Another bargain, perhaps
Re: Another bargain, perhaps
I agree, if you can do the work yourself it is a good buy. Good find!
There are a lot of good buys out there if you can do the work and there are a lot of "pie in the sky" "dreamer" prices as well. We're in a very unusual period for O scale brass right now

Repairing pieces is actually one of the fun parts of the hobby that I am relatively new to. This started my entire interest in KTM USH pieces. Before that I was just collecting Sunset, Weaver, Car Works, PSC and MTH. Following KTM then basket cases of Hines, Lobaugh, CLW.
In retrospect, I cannot believe that KTM was not on my field of view. The quality and durability of the machining is incredible.
