poor

Might be the camera, but sure looks like the rear of the chassis isn't lined up under the cab.
Front ladders gone..holes there. Boiler handrails short at smokebox...odd.
Didn't drill holes in cab roof for roof vent alignment pegs...so they're bent.
Is this one of those tender drives? Has a NWSL gearbox, so maybe motor in firebox.
Says test run and needs oil. Bets are it needs more than that.
Paint is flaked and chipped..see the front of the fireman's running board...and under the cab.
How hard is it to straighten the bell for a photo shoot?
Not sure with the lousy photos what that is behind the sand dome. Can't be a tiny dynamo, could it? In case the big one behind the steam dome quits suddenly?
Tender ain't bad looking except the back up light.
Nice .38 shell stack.
Sure seems like seller is studiously avoiding photos of cab back and tender front.
325 ?
Nope.
Put a Sears sticker on it and maybe...

.......that look like they were taken through some sort of cheese cloth filter,
Looking at the rest of the listings, seller is not the owner or builder. Too bad for the owner relying on someone that cannot take a decent photo. The other stuff is overpriced as well.
Meh...

Last time I saw photos like that was HS photography where we had the slowest, cheapest B&W film...

Re: poor
I get very suspicious when the photo shows the tender facing the wrong way with the loco. to me that means the seller has no idea what he is dealing with, has not idea of value, and has no idea of condition.
And I agree, it seems in some of the photos of the bottom, the whole body looks slightly mis-aligned on the frame.
And when you try to zoom in, you get the cheese cloth effect which hides everything as mentioned above. Is that stupidity or a studious effort to make it impossible to zoom in and see anything.
All in all, very suspicious.

Ah, but we are not allowed to ascribe such motives to pure evilbait sellers. Couched definitions in silly pointless phraseology.
Poor photographs, both in quality and in views.
But no, they aren't trying to hide anything. They want 325 which shows me they want to minimize "winner" observation and maximize profits!
Surprised the seller didn't split engine and tender.
See the tab sticking out of the front of the tender in several shots?
Makes me think tender drive.
When seller states runs but needs lube, where is the driveshaft coupler? How did it run? Cordless drill?
Photo of back of cab and / or front of tender would show us, but seeming purposeful endeavor to avoid that.

Re: poor
Look at the seller's other items -- this is not a person knowledgeable in model trains; probably just as stated - selling for a friend. That actually does happen and there actually are model railroaders that are totally clueless about selling on eBay.....or even using a computer.

Could be. Moon could be made of green cheese, too.
Look carefully. Every shot is staged to NOT show the ends in question, even the shot with engine and tender they turned the tender around to show the back side.
Really questionable, even if seller is clueless.
Condition, 50-75 max.
NOT 325.

Ok, so it's your contention that every seller is a fraud on eBay.... Great. Explains many things.

Not sure where these flights of imagination come from.
Puzzling.
I have never said nor implied that all evilbait sellers are frauds.
What I AM saying is that I look closely. When something stinks, close look generally shows the hidden dog poo.
Not saying it is, but the hallmarks are there.
Wonder who here is gonna buy it and report?
I'd go a stretch and give him 10% of BIN and hold to free shipping just to see what he's not showing.

I should put my models on eBay, and let Dave link to them. Maybe that MTH Hudson at $3000 would get eight responses?

He'll only tell everyone how terrible they are and how overpriced they are, and that he already has 7 of them that were given to him for free...
BTW, I do periodically look to see if you do have anything listed.

Three, not seven. Price was right for me, anyway.
So you're saying, just for clarification, the kluge shown with poor photos is worth 325.
Interesting.

No, I was wondering why so many folks were interested in discussing it.
I will be listing an Overland light Mikado USRA in January. Account is Feralinda. Dave should spot it, because I am starting it at the outrageous price of $650. Then we can have a long discussion.

The comment was directed at a quote from the Firefly, not you!
Imports have zero interest to me. Straight brass even less.
I did comment on the compressed engine because of the damage.
I know enough about Varney, G-M and A-N steamers to be able to discuss them.
I think the asking, for what is there, is hilariously ridiculous, but, hey, if somebody "wins" it then that's what it's worth, right?
