He didn't want the Ukraine in NATO. That part could have been solved before this started.

He knows he can't rebuild the USSR to what it used to be. It looks like to me that he is after the eastern part and the ports along the black sea. That all borders Russia and links to Crimea where there naval base is located. I don't think he gives a crap about the western part but he will destroy it.

I"M just keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get into a nuclear confrontation because I"M afraid that's where it will end and we all lose
