So, here's the plan folks, tomorrow after punching in, you're all goin' to wear white clothes, and march in formation down a dirt road, with a shoe on your head. Yeah, that'll maintain your credibility with the kids.

The hat tilted to the side was, and somewhat, still is condoned by the U.S. armed forces during WW II.
The service academys are the exception.

Shoes ?! Oh, I could not make that out (and still can't,) which is OK. I trust that didn't make the employees feel "under foot."

....in their clean white suits.

Next up, Good Humor Ice Cream men - in thier white suits........ A conspiratorial criminal enterprise, or just badly disguised aliens intent on selling frozen genetic materials encapsulated in ice cream.

Once upon a time, a man wasn't dressed w/o a hat on his head. Working outdoors wearing a hat was probably a good thing then and probably still is today.

Also some mighty young looking workers.

Work used to start as soon as a body was able to earn a penny. I suspect as well that cutting staves was work that smaller framed individuals could do while larger men might be off cutting and handling larger lumber.

Looks like a cordial group looking to give the interloping photographer "the business". The youngster in the foreground even put down his cudgel long enough to get his picture taken, lol...

I think I see a steam engine of some type in back. Is it a locomotive, a tractor or stationary? I don't see any track.
Of course there could be behind the engine.

I think that's a stationery steam boiler to power the stave cutting equipment. I wish there was a complimentary card that depicted that part of the operation!

I'm not picking up too many positive vibes from that group. And I've never seen such a poker-faced bunch of boys. There's barely a one of them over 90 lbs.! As they went forward with their lives, I hope they found some happiness, somewhere.

Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
