I rarely drink more than a single beer in a week. Most of the ones I do drink tend to be rather potent - 1 is enough!
I made a Russian stout that hit 12% the. The yeast bit the bullet. My goal was to get 14%.

How drinkable was it?

2 thumbs up and a snap. Not something to drink on a hot summer day or with pizza. More like a bowl of stew and a hunk of pumpernickel.

A radio show from a Cincinnati station used to send O.F. to callers to this show as prizes.
I don't remember the emcees name but it was a rather varied show.
There was a section that was like a soap opera that was hilarious. Even had some real news.

Nah! That was not a high alcohol beer - under 10%,

1960s and early 1970s. WLW was the station. It was one of the older stations, though not as old as KDKA
the oldest commercial radio station in the country. I think it is still on but their format has changed.
WLW had alot of variety.

We listened to that in the Pittsburgh area, back-in-the-day. Did KDKA originate from there? Remember Bill Burns on KDKA TV news (if I have that right) ?

Rege Cordic had a morning show on KDKA radio called "Cordic & Company", I believe as early as the mid 50's. He came up with the name as a Christmas themed joke and it just took off. I think it was the Iron City Brewing Company that repackaged their product for the season.
Yep, the pale, stale ale with the foam on the bottom, made from hippity hops. KDKA was never the same after old Regis left for Califunny.
