It's been 30 years since they made this movie. Will this one be as good. The remake of "IT" turned out good...

What did you think of the remake of "The Thing" ?

I haven't seen it....

1st Pet Sematary was a total hack job; only redeeming feature was the title song being done by the Ramones. Ok, maybe King showing up in it doing a cameo a la Hitchcock was amusing.....

Which remake of IT? There's been 3 versions now.

The last one....

Yes, rather good, but I still like Curry's performance.....

Unfortunately she is another one of the anti-gun celebrities that makes money using guns in her movies

What did you think of the remake of "The Thing" ?

If you mean the Thing remake by John Carpenter I thought it followed the original story by John Campbell much better than the older version.
I liked it.

"The Thing from Another World," from 1951, is the one I liked best, I suppose because I was a kid and it scared me plenty when The Thing was first seen when "he" slashed his thorn-studded hands out the greenhouse door at the scientists.

I believe it was created to tell the story of the novel, "Who Goes There."

I'm sure that that is in part one reason why affected you so and remember it so well - that impressionable youth,

That wasn't a dance! This is a dance. Kill the commercial.

The concept of The Thing coming here to propagate and use humans - our blood - as nursery food was immediately apparent to us kiddies as world-threatening. Seeing those little plants, with the scientist listening to them with a stethoscope and hearing what sounded like the cry of a baby; plus, several of the scientific community there being placed hanging from the greenhouse rafters for the draining of their blood, to nourish the embryonic plants, reminding us of transfusions at hospital beds, all of which matched-up perfectly with The Thing's attitude, which was as removed from compassion and empathy as we are when we operate a slaughterhouse.

Yes, every bit of what I just recalled is from my childhood, as a gang of us sat in the local movie-house, delighted to be so stunned at something so new and unexpected.

Actually a novella originally published in '38.

.....to propagate and use humans - our blood - as nursery food.

There are countless stories that employ that aspect - a common theme that resonates with a self-aware species that might find itself as a food source.
