Well, if people want your work, just remember, “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.”

They've always been fair with me. I'm just not sure how much motivation I have remaining.

Well, a track record is something to weigh positively, but if you're not interested, then it's time to close shop.

I've shoved all my building projects to the side to work on scenery for my layout; long overdue. But, I still have to take photos for article(s), etc...... It's a slow process as I do scenery the same way I build structures and rolling stock, board by board, stick by stick, tree by tree, down to the last bit of foliage....

No pressure, but I am certain every soul here looks forward to seeing your layout as it takes shape, unless of course you do not like folks to see your work until it is wholly completed. If so, judging from what you just said, above, about board-by-board movement forward, then I can only hope we are all around by the time you declare the layout open for admiration and applause and we can all take a deep breath of it and enjoy every inch enthusiastically.

I imagine you will be documenting it photographically, all along the way, right? You're too important and accomplished a craftsman to leave the record to happenstance. There are magazines that would clamor for that record.

I managed a few square feet in Feb. that were pretty easy; got another structure to get scenic'd (been 2 weeks now) and installed. I can get another 2 square feet done maybe before April, but there's a major building in the path that will easily take a few weeks.

I imagine you will be documenting it photographically, all along the way, right?

I try very hard to remember to pause and take photos

Thank you,  Where do I send the check again?

I work for the one that will get the articles........

I suppose I should say why I'm asking. I have all kinds of interests, some of which I've pursued more than others. On the other hand, my father had an attitude towards "hobbies". I stopped showing my stuff to him, because he'd just say "I need another model, like I need a hole in the head".

In recent years, I've given myself permission to try new things. Teaching myself to build brass models has proven to be really satisfying. It's all been satisfying. My cardstock Jupiter 2s, Hot Wheels bashes - everything.

Maybe these guys are right behind:

Lots of companies out there carrying massive debt...won't take much to push them over, especially if interest rates keep heading up.

Not everything, but if we keep selling off all of our companies to China, it really won't matter anymore.
