In the News
Re: In the News
When i see a video like this one. I wonder all the time how? Is it real? Are the actors? Acting out a situation for police training. Is the lady off her meds?

Snow White kiss is inappropriate, nix it from Disneyland show, newspaper editorial argues

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - As Disneyland reopens in Anaheim, a California newspaper is urging the theme park to eliminate a reenactment of one of the most famous scenes from one of the company’s most iconic movies.
In an editorial posted by SF Gate, two of its editors argue the grand finale of the Snow White Enchanted Wish ride, when the Prince kisses our heroine to awaken her from the Evil Queen’s wicked spell, should be removed from the ending.
They argue because she was unconscious, Snow White couldn’t give consent to be being kissed and it “cannot possibly be true love if only one person knows it’s happening.”
The pair contended consent in early Disney movies is a major issue and that the scene could teach kids that kissing “when it hasn’t been established if both parties are willing to engage” is okay.

Harumph! They should rewrite it and have him goose her. I never did buy into the idea that a kiss would make her spit out that piece of apple!

Re: In the News
Daffy Duck kissed everybody, and that was directly on the mouth, if I recall correctly from childhood cartoons. He would exclaim, "WooHooo WooHoo," too, upon completion of the smooch.

Actually, it's worse as it's implied that Snow White was dead and then you have somebody kissing a dead person promoting necrophilia....

Totally agree on that! With all the sluts running around in this world today, why don't these ultra conservative FU'd people, who want it pulled from the movie, work on that sector of the public and leave old movies alone.

Re: In the News
I've often wondered, do they have a purpose (not that they have to, as far as our concerns are concerned, but what about Nature itself) ? What do cicadas do besides develope underground for almost two decades, then emerge, only to munch a bit and mate? Why do they exist?
Surely, somebody wiser, here, than I, will straighten me out in this regard.

Colonial Pipeline paid hackers nearly $5 million in ransom - Bloomberg News
https://news.yahoo.com/colonial-pipelin ... 13149.html
(Reuters) -Colonial Pipeline paid nearly $5 million to Eastern European hackers on Friday after a crippling cyberattack that shut the largest fuel pipeline network in the United States, Bloomberg News reported, citing two people familiar with the transaction.
The company paid the ransom in untraceable cryptocurrency within hours after the attack, according to the report. (https://bloom.bg/3hnngHz)
Colonial Pipeline declined to comment.
Whether targets of such attacks should pay to regain control of their systems is a matter of fierce debate. Critics contend that paying ransom encourages attacks.
U.S. House of Representative Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday ransom should not be paid by companies that are the victims of cyber attacks.
The hackers provided Colonial Pipeline with a decrypting tool to restore its disabled computer network after they received the payment, but the company used its own backups to help restore the system since the tool was slow, Bloomberg News reported.

Hardly new; this is just an example of what Chuck had related a bit up the page of a failure to appropriately protect systems from something that's years old and should never have happened. This is closer to negligence.
