I don't know what to say, Wayne.

But you sure are creative.

Now this is getting interesting. develop a plan to switch to 100 percent renewable energy in 12 years.

New York Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the most prominent of the progressive millennials elected to Congress in the midterm elections, joined a protest led by left-wing groups Justice Democrats and the Sunrise Movement outside House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's personal office calling for House Democrats to put forward a climate plan. Protesters called for Democrats, who will have a substantial majority in the House next year, to create a select committee to develop a plan to switch to 100 percent renewable energy.

The demonstration was spurred by a recent United Nations report which showed that the world only has 12 years to limit global warming to manageable levels.

I wonder what all the people in the eastern states that use fuel oil to heat their homes in the winter ill be able to switch over to ?

I'm all for renewable energy. Car, truck, boat, tractor, generator; they run out of gas, I put more in, and they are renewed!

At what price per gallon will that no longer be true?

A lot switched over to natural gas since it became significantly cheaper and is more efficient. It's not static and it evolves. We moved from coal to oil to natural gas to whatever is next...... I've got an array of solar panels to set up someday at my place in PA. But, then I also burn a good bit of wood there, too.

I noticed, watching the News, and talking with neighbors, during that gasoline "shortage" the USA tolerated a few decades ago, that as the price-per-gallon approached $5, people were reaching an absolute limit in their patience on the matter. Figuring 20 gal. x $5 e. it was easy to see that "filling-up" was going to be a $100 action, and folks just were not going to have it. People cut back, as much as they could, at least. Folks simply stopped going places, such as appointments, vacations, and traveling at all beyond their local precincts. If we couldn't walk to it , we were not going.

I don't know how folks would react to $100 fill-ups nowadays, though.

Calls come nearly every day to us, peddling solar panels and their installation. Even though we have two good-sized roofs, as part of the entire roof system, which face due west and due east, respectively, catching the sunrise and sunset square-on, we are reluctant to have solar panels applied. We have no idea what problems might arise due to the collective weight of the panels, nor what kind of wear-n-tear they might inflict to the shingled roofs. :?

Depends on what state I'm in and where I am in it as well. PA and the immediate DC area costs me ~$40 to fill the Outback. Outside those areas, I can find gas 20-40 cents per gallon cheaper. It was 60 cents / gallon cheaper in Florida on Monday....

It will always be true for me, and price won't matter. Ya need gas? Ya put it in. Right now there is a world glut of oil and while some of it can be attributed to over production, I prefer to believe much comes from decreased use. Realize how much more efficient vehicles are today verse 10 years ago. USA reserves are chock full right now, and the world price of oil has fallen nearly $30 a barrel in the past month or so. Plus I know that you just like to be argumentative; showing your nose in the air doctorate elitism over the rest of us mere mortals.

Cars may be more efficient now. In the last 10 years the amount of cars on the road has increased. A simple 2 hour drive to NYC is now 3.5 hours. All these added cars increase the amount of gas we use.

I have a VW diesel and diesel has been at $3 a gallon since oil prices went up a year ago. Gas in the $2.50 range now. And, we are a huge supplier of natural gas and oil in this state and almost always pay more for petroleum...........go figure.
