Healey,
The outlets and regular malls have been booming in this area.
I will not attempt any explanation.

Thanks, Murph!! I'm humbled.
Mitch, Speaking of Pete! Me and him have a project coming up and think it would be neat to get everyone's input and ideas on it so we can all have a part in the project. Details this weekend.
Jon: Stopped by Pete's for a glass on Christmas Eve. Place was dead! Pete wasn't there. No redhead, either.

In other breaking news, THIS 65 year old curmudgeon is in serious contemplation about acquiring a cell phone.

Yes, Rufus! Your X-102 craftsmanship has hit the rails! It pains me though that I have no period locomotive to pull her with.
I need some idea's.
Now what would you like to be dipped in?

I'd never have guessed that. I thought you were about 47-ish. True.

It appears the Swede's have had their fill of threats of Sharia Law and their women being raped by the "refugee's".

Somewhere in the piles of boxes there's a rather much in need of help (maybe.....) ancient 4-4-0 that I have that I had plans to disassemble and re-motor, etc.
Now what would you like to be dipped in?

Re: Hobo Jungle
So, lets end the year on a fascinating social development in the USA:
As I understand it, there is this kid named Ethan Couch who crashed his vehicle into another, killing several of the occupants. He is drunk off his arse, goes to court, and his defense is a condition called "affluenza" whereby he has no sense of responsibility instilled as a condition of his wealthy upbringing.
In probably the most stupid precedent ever set in this century in America (and the century is still young!), that defense is deemed to actually be valid enough such that he completely avoids jail (further exacerbating that "condition", of course). Then a video crops up showing the little toff drinking in violation of the deal, so before the US Marshals can nick the little prince (The US is after all a class-less society where all are created equal, he said cynically) for parole violation, his useless Mommy Tonya whisks him over the Mexican border and they go into hiding in (excuse me?) Puerto Vallarta.
So now the little shit, who the Americans refused to straighten out by buying into that silly-arsed defense of "affluenza", is in the custody of the Mexicans. How I'd love to see both Darling Ethan and Mummy Tonya not be returned to the absolutely stupid American legal system that legitimises spoilt brats killing as a reaction to the horrible mental scarring inflicted by extreme wealth, but keeps the pair (one for being a murderer fleeing over international borders to avoid further prosecution and the other both an accomplice to international flight and for being a totally irresponsible parent by raising such a monster). Perhaps the Mexicans can rise above the Yanks in this case; wouldn't be hard.
Meanwhile, is there no accounting in the American "justice" (a term used very loosely as of late) system for members of the bar who actually forward such obvious lunacy and succeed, officers of the court who rule it somehow legitimate and let murderers walk because they are somehow disadvantaged by their wealth. Really, now!

Re: Hobo Jungle
Sarge, from my experience sitting time I can tell you that if they know you will pose no threat to society they will make you serve your whole sentence. They know you will not be back, only the ones who will cause more trouble get paroled. Keeps there system in business. The affluenza case end result should have been a whole lot of civil disobedience towards the judge and the attorneys. Texas is a strange state and if you have money you can purchase more reasonable doubt than the poor fellow can. Justice blind? My Arse!!!
Re: Hobo Jungle
judge Jean Hudson Boyd. Number 1 reason for changing laws about judges being fired! Do you think she took some money from the kids parents?
