That is interesting. I remember the Spencer Tracy movie "Bad Day at Blackrock" which was excellent and thought provoking like the images in your link. Haunting to say the least. Good Post!

Reading more I see Black Rock City is where Burning Man is held. Helps explain to me the tone of the website. Bad Day at Black was filmed near Lone Pine, Ca, at least the scenes of the train. Southern Pacific had both standard gauge and narrow gauge tracks in the vicinity of Lone Pine back then.
