Ice and snow breakers. Wedges attached to the shingles to keep sheets of ice or snow from sliding off in one piece.

I apparently don't have a steam era photo of the CVRR station in Williamson, so here's a diesel era one...

I find the various pavements and the transitions among them to be interesting.

Yes, all neat & tidy, too.

I also find the PRR box cars interesting.

I should be able to locate a photo of that station from a somewhat different angle although it might be blocked by the CVRR electric car that served that area of the RR.

Oh, every bit of that photo is interesting. I found the pavements particularly so , given my penchant for crafting such areas, among myriad others .

Both buildings in the photo are extant and in excellent condition. The station, now a museum, has lost its tower and corresponding roof section. The smaller building is in use, maybe by the C of C and has a historical plaque by its door. Corner of Strawberry and Market Streets. Only one track survives.

Thanks! I just never had the time to go looking for it despite being there a few months ago.

Good to know another CVRR station remains in existence although I guess that in part may be due to it becoming a PRR station for the latter portion of its life in that service.

Engine 34 was a D-13c with a shop date of 1900 and that is listed as probably being a rebuilding date; became PRR 3785 and then sold off to the Balt. Ches & Atl. in 1922 and scrapped in 1928.
